Cynthia Hewett is a New York State Licensed Acupuncturist and is NCCAOM board certified in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology. She received her Master of Science degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York, a leading school for Asian studies in the Northeast.
Cynthia has a strong breadth of clinical experience. Her patient experience includes the Pacific College Acupuncture Clinic, the New York Hospital for Joint Diseases – Initiative for Women with Disabilities as well as patient care at the New York University Medical Center.
Ms. Hewett brings multiple facets and fields of study to her medical art. Besides a strong background in Chinese medicine, she is also trained in CranioSacral therapy with the Upledger Institute, the top institute of study in the field. CranioSacral is a very gentle, hands-on work that helps release tensions deep in the body which can help relieve pain, dysfunction, and emotional stagnation as well as improve overall health.
She also studied Gyrotonics and Integrated Energy Medicine with the IM School of Healing Arts. Originally designed for dancers, Gyrontonics works with a series of continuous flowing movements that take your joints through full range of motion.
Cynthia enjoys incorporating all these modalities to provide an individualized treatment plan that encourages body, mind and spirit to return to it’s own wholeness.
A former actress, Cynthia’s studies include a Masters in Fine Arts from Temple University. Cynthia understands the challenges of the entertainment business, and works with many actors and actresses to keep their top form, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Cynthia believes health is a balanced response to the dynamics of your life. Creating good health is a process of personal evolution – each treatment reminds your body of it’s own intelligence and well-being.
